Upslope and to the N is a large area of dead hemlock with dense Microstegium cover. Privately owned tract of forested land. The community is growing on a narrow fin of limestone which quickly drops to the E and to the W. The exposed limestone is covered with an array of crustose and leprose lichens. There are several old Juniper stumps in the plot. They have been cut but were left in the plot.

Small patch of limestone clifftop woodland with eastern red cedar and red oak dominance. Plot is confined to the more open sunny top of the limestone "fin". Giving the community several aspects and slopes. Similar to plots sampled up river and down river
